I'm cheered that you find me inspiring. If I have any life purpose, I hope, it is to inspire.

I've just been looking at your page, to see if I can work out what it is I know that you don't, and I found the link to your MySpace. You are 16, yes? Shall I tell you a piece of wisdom my father shared with me when I was 16? He said, "the older I grow, the less I know". It took me a while to understand what he meant.

But maybe your MySpace is wrong. Mine says I'm 108 years old for some reason. Are you married, a mum and sixteen as well?

Anyway, to get back to the point, if you are only 16, then the chances are I probably do know some things you don't, just because I've been on the planet 30 more years, but the real question is, do I know anything worth knowing? There are plenty people out there who have accumulated all sorts of knowledge, but does it serve them well?

I'm listening to your MySpace tunes as I write this. I like your taste in music.

Also, I grew up with Buffy St Marie's "Changing Woman" constantly on my mother's stereo. Her songs haunt me to this day.

You seem like an interesting person, Kansas (is that your name or moniker?) You seem like an interested person. If I can offer one bit of advice, then it is to stay interested. Never succumb to the idea that you know all you need to know.

I wish I could whip out some wonderful nugget of wisdom for you Kansas, but at this moment I can only think of one aphorism I saw scribbled on a toilet wall. It said: "the only thing that fits in a pigeonhole is a pigeon". I don't think that will particularly help you on your path, but it might bring a smile to your face.

I'm glad you like my art. I don't know what other people have been saying to you, but in my experience, the new age movement (if you can call it that) is brimming over with people desperate for happiness. Many of them are extremely gullible. So you are right to hone your powers of discrimination. There's a lot of truth and beauty out there, of course, but there are also a lot of charlatans and a lot of people suffering from delusions of wisdom. Good luck in your journey, wherever it may take you. I hope it is exciting.
